99% of what is on the Internet is an absolute total waste of time. Social websites are certainly part of that.

pretty much i remember times with the internet wasnt around. you went out and socialized and hanged out with people, did things together.

@hunkalove: it's not like the internet stops people from going outside. Though clearly some people would rather just talk on the internet than real life and if that's what they enjoy then I would argue its not a waste

@theowl: I don't think so. People crave human interaction. I don't see the problem with finding it online instead of in person outside of maybe it affecting your social skills since talking to people in parson is different than talking on the internet.

because in a lot of it online isnt reality. people get drawn in and they lose the ability to form interactions with people in the real world. its so easy online to make friends and cut them off as they get bored or to become self absorbed.
