Many on here have stories complaining about rude messages they receive, yet send a nice message to them and next to none of them will reply?

Hey, I'm Steve. I'm here at Similar Worlds because I like talking to people with different interests and hobbies. I like reading and playing piano and science fiction movies. What sort of things do you like? Maybe we have some things in common.

That's an invitation to a conversation; not a demand to be entertained or an interrogation.

@Serenitree: I very quickly point out that I am a piano teacher and paramedic, and ask them what they do.

@pianoplayingsteve: maybe you are sending them to the wrong people. Take it as a good thing. I think you will get the right one to message you back.

@pianoplayingsteve: that's a good thing. And as justpeaceandlove says, finding the right people to chat with helps. Not everyone wants to pm . A willingness to answer questions as well as ask them is a great way to go.
