I don't really see anything ethically wrong with killing animals for their meat. I do think that it is ethically wrong to torture and abuse animals to get the highest gain per yield. It's important to me that I have some basic respect for the animal that lost its life so I can have a nice steak, and that it was treated as well as possible under the circumstances.
