I think in today's world we still need nation-states and borders and, yes, nationalities. But I'd like to see a world in my lifetime where we each remain proud of and celebrate our cultural heritages, but simply consider ourselves to be human.
Is that not a little paradoxical?

@mar3sword: No, I don't think so. 🤔 How so?
@sarabee1995: Well actually, statistics say that we will all be mixed race in future and with increased globalization we will be a blend of cultures too. The law of thermodynamics says this was always going to happen. So it is totally possible. It is kinda sad to think of us losing our diversity, but it is inevitable.

@mar3sword: How does this make my statement paradoxical? Yes, sure we will continue to mix. I am part German, part Irish, part English, and part "generic" American. I can celebrate these cultures and others. Right?
@sarabee1995: I will recend my paradoxical statement. I stand corrected. *looks sheepish and takes a comical bow*

Yes you can. As I can celebrate my English, Irish, Scottish blood.

@mar3sword: And as all the cultures of humanity continue to blend, and economies equalize and stabilize, national borders will someday seem like a relic of a bygone era. We will celebrate our heritage(s) without feeling animosity to others.

But for now, we need nations and borders and national identities.
@sarabee1995: A good dream

@mar3sword: Not the first time I've been called a dreamer. Probably not the last either. 😊
