Have you experience racism?

My experience: I was just riding my bike around in the summer and this kid walked by me and stopped dribbling his basketball because I ( a person of darker skin) was nearby, his dad just said "this guy's an asshole, he won't have a future anyway." I was extremely offended by it, my color shouldn't determine what's in store for me. The dad, ironically, had a spray tan. So he thinks someone with darker skin can be so unsuccessful, yet he tries to look like he has darker skin.

Yes I have. In 2014 I was working as front desk clerk at a condo in Rockport, TX. A young black female came in and left her job application with me. After she left, I stepped over to my supervisors desk to give her the application and she said, "Oh we don't hire them." Then proceeded to show me the procedure for apps from people "like her". Write "colored" at the top and lay it on the Manager's desk.

In those moments, I was feeling physically ill, and trapped. I did not work there much longer.
