People forget that unless the conversation is real important, sometimes people do have to put it on pause unannounced when life gets in the way.
I think most people just understand that it is the nature of text messages. SOMEtimes people will end the chat formally if they have to do something but not usually. It should not be expected.
When someone has a romantic interest though, THAT is when they get antsy if someone takes too long to respond or doesn't announce why they have to do silly things like feed their baby or escape a burning building.

@revenant All I am saying is that during text conversations, people need to understand that real life gets in the way.
It's like you send a message and they respond when they respond. Sometimes I text my brother and may not hear back for a couple days but that is fine.
The only exception is if two people are texting about something important and one of them just ducks out for no apparent reason.
