I hate to say it but i think my parents need to go live in a assisted living center. They just can't maintain a home and it's not good for them
This is what i saw when using the restroom. They keep it hidden via shower curtain but this isn't good
They just can't seem to do it or maintain anything anymore. Their house is a giant clutter and when i left i fell over a bike in their front room. You cant walk anywhere without encountering a mess. Old food everywhere getting icky looking. They act like it's normal when it's not. Im afraid theyll get sick or fall and hurt themselves. They're pushing 80 and it's just a bad idea for them to keep living there.

If they are not in good health they might get an aide to help them out with chores and even errands or take them to the doctor for 3-4 hours a ay. I did that for someone who had cerebral palsy when his mother went to work and the state paid for it, not much $ but some are willing to work for that.
