Codfish.
Codfish boiled and served with mustard or horse radish sauce, white potatoes, chopped hard boiled egg, chopped pickled red beet and chopped fried bacon.

Sounds good! As long as I'm not in the pot. Lol

No, you just have to catch the codfish.

No cod around here, but I bet grouper or cobia would work just fine.

On Monday I am going to make fried herring in vinegar; luke warm and with rye bread they are a delicious lunch dish and with stewed potatoes insted of bread they are an excellent dish for supper - and herring is always a valid excuse for having a glass of aquavit.
But if you do not have codfish where you fish I suppose that there are no herrings nor any aquavit.
Where is that horrible place and how can humans live there?

I bet you'd have no problem finding suitable replacements here. You might even find some new favorites. I live along the Gulf of Mexico.

That would be too hot a climate for me, I would feel that I was in the pot being boiled.

I've lived here all my life and I sometimes feel the same way. Right now isn't one of them. Beautiful weather at the moment.

But I am a Danish Viking woman and thrive with our climate; cold dar winters but wonderful summers with light nights and the birds singing already at four o'clock in the morning.
I guess it is a good thing that we boyh are suited for the climate where we live and belong.

We humans are really good at adapting to our climate. I'd love to travel to your area in the summer. My blood is too thin for a winter visit. Lol
