@BeJeweled oof, but the medicine. They didnt even have aspirin. Also imagine getting a toothache, you are majorly fucked, they didnt remove cavities back then, just straight up pulling them out with no anesthesia.
@BeJeweled I'd say things were far from safe back then. It was much easier to get robbed, murdered or raped, without anyone catching the criminal. They had no dna testings and their police was mainly regional. The criminal could just move to another side of the country, and there would be a tiny chance that anyone would even look for them. Probably only if they killed the wrong person, or robbed banks and they had a serious bounty on their head. Also slavery, underage marriages, (some) no rights, terrible medicine, I dont see how that is more safe than today. You can move to the country side if u dont like noise or get soundproof windows. And yeah it was possibly more simple, but also more boring. And work was more difficult, because most of it was manual labour with no automatization.
@BeJeweled well there was no national system of education back then and only a small section of the children received any schooling. Road rage - having a horse was expensive, now 4/5 americans have the means to get a vehicle. Threats of nuclear war is what kept the civilized world from engaging in wars with eachother for the past almost 80 years. Before there were wars in Europe practically constantly.
