Anyone else having a fly problem? Fruit flies have been bad at my house. Im trying to figure out where they are coming from

I was making soup and left it simmering for awhile i came to check on it and i saw a dead fly floating in my soup. I plucked it out and ate it anyway cause im not wasting money and the liquid was hot so germs aren't a thing. I was mad because now theyre messing with my cooking
