Why do people even tell their kids their presents come from Santa?
Wouldn't it make much more sense to tell your child the presents are from [i]you[/i]?

Stockings were always "Santa" presents in our house, and others were known to have been purchased by parents, brothers, grandparents, etc. It equalized things so in case we said something to other kids about what Santa may have brought us that it would not be out of line with what someone else got.
