I was 19. They kicked me out after finding out I had just lost my virginity. But the good part was that they paid for me an apartment for a year- they just didn’t want me in their home anymore because I had “shamed “ them.

@Mardrae WTF? How is losing your virginity "shaming" them? 🤔
Mardrae · F
They were very strict southern Baptist. They wanted me to wait till I was married for sex. They told me I had ruined myself and that no man would ever want me and I would never marry. Boy did I prove them wrong- I’ve been married 4 times! Haha 😂 @BijouPleasurette

@Mardrae They had to accept that they couldn't control your personal life. Why should they? It was none of their goddamn business.

@Mardrae So what rights did they have to judge you in that way?
Mardrae · F
They were my parents. @BijouPleasurette

@Mardrae True, but your private adult life was still none of their business.
Mardrae · F
True, but I was still living in their home and they believed that gave them the right to dictate everything in my life. Even after I got married and moved to another state, I became pregnant and when I told my parents, I thought they would be happy to have a grandchild, but my Dad drove all the way to where I lived with no notice, and when my husband opened the door, my dad punched him and they were rolling around in the grass fighting. @BijouPleasurette

@Mardrae Your dad sounds like a monster. I wouldn't blame you if you'd moved out earlier.
Mardrae · F
I definitely should have @BijouPleasurette

@Mardrae So why didn't you?
Mardrae · F
Umm- a little thing called money. I’m type 1 diabetic and back in those days, it was considered quite a disability. I couldn’t even get or keep a job. @BijouPleasurette
