State vehicle taxes already exist in most states as apart of vehicle registration.

What will happen and soon is charging station taxes to replace the gas taxes. So there will be that double taxation once again.

What is ironic is the wealthy can avoid that tax by simply buying their own charging station which is not possible for many in the middle class especially the poor who are renting.

It will happen this way because any kind of excise tax will not get passed around any kind of republican votes against it.

Since the wealthy won't have to pay any taxes for charging, the republicans will be more for it.
In uk we already have a vehicle tax, electric cars are currently cheaper to tax but that is only temporary as an encouragement to switch

If fuel tax pays for the roads, Why do I pay a fuel tax for the boat gas?
