I'm a sanitizing freak, and my hands are buring now.

I tend to sanitize my hands like 5-10 times a day, each time I touch a handle when I'm out and about.
Now I started using a diff sanitizer a couple of days ago, it was alright just a weird smell, and more liquidy. I just applied it, and for some reason now my hands are burning. I went and washed them with soap, but they are still burning.

I had a real problem with washing my hands too much when the lockdown began. But I found some good liquid hand soap that killed cooties and it went away. I don't think sanitizer is a good solution to the problem though sometimes I use it too. I like the clean smell.

@hunkalove what would u say I should do in public tho? Like when I touch stuff others touch. Covid didnt go away yet
MrSimons · 41-45, M
@Dan193 Probably just wash your hands with soap and water. I don't know why people worry about Covid more than they worry about other illnesses which are as bad or worse though.

@Dan193 Soap and water should be enough if you wash your hands for 20 seconds. I'm very careful what I touch in public and I always have been. No doorknobs or railings or something a lot of people touch. I wash my hands every time I come home even if i just took out the trash. Be careful about touching your face. Soap is supposed to be better than hand sanitizer.

@MrSimons because I see how careless everyone is. I personally knew people that either would have covid, knew about it and still went out, or just employers making sick people still come into work until they tested positive. And back then there werent any quick home tests available, and u had to go to a site and wait 3 days to get a result. Like even now I doubt many people have an instant testing kit at home.

@Dan193 I have some tests at home but I never use them. I don't worry about it anymore now that Covid restrictions are pretty much a thing of the past. I have had it twice and in both cases, it was no worse than a cold. I am triply jabbed (which still didn't stop me from catching it the second time). I can't be any more protected than I now am. It's not keeping me prisoner anymore. It's time to get on with life and stop worrying about it.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
@MrSimons Which doesn't mean you shouldn't wash your hands.
MrSimons · 41-45, M
@hunkalove Yes, I wash my hands. I always have washed my hands, ever since I was a small child.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@MrSimons thanks for the advice, maybe I should ease off. But then again, I'm not vaccinated and I never had covid.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
Thanks @hunkalove
MrSimons · 41-45, M
@Dan193 Oh? Were you not able to get vaccinated? I am not saying that we shouldn't take precautions. I just think we need to stop worrying so much. The vulnerable are mostly vaccinated and it is not dangerous to the vast majority of us. I am more concerned about catching the flu this winter than Covid. I might get vaccinated for that but even with that, I am not going to stop doing anything I am planning to do.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@MrSimons you can get vaccinated for flu, it'll protect you. I got that once or twice myself. About covid, I just didnt trust the vaccine initially, but now after it passed so much time and I didnt get sick while so many around me had, I just feel like I can do without, you know
MrSimons · 41-45, M
@Dan193 I think that's quite fair enough. I am just a little surprised given that you seemed a bit concerned about Covid.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@MrSimons that's a fair assumption and I am concerned about it, like somebody else commented here, no one wants to get sick.
