Why do cowards who delete your comments no longer leave the telltale "deleted by OP" scar?

The ability to delete comments other SWeeps leave on your posts has its problems, but I always felt that it struck the right balance by leaving "This comment was deleted by the author of the main post". So why doesn't it do that anymore?

Edit #1: so sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Maybe if a comment has a reply, it can't be removed entirely. I'll know when a certain coward logs in and sees my comment (as well as its reply)
