I felt embarrassed at work today, I hate hand outs

Last 3 days On lunch at work I didn’t eat anything. Today this lady I work with noticed I wasn’t eating. She asked “why aren’t you eating” I said “I’m broke I’ll eat when I get home” she got up and left she brung back a sandwich and a soda I said “you didn’t have to do that” she said “you need to eat” I said “thank you” on our last break I sat down she came in and walked towards me and she said “here she handed me a 20 dollar bill” I told her “thanks I’ll pay you back” she said “forget about it” I will pay her back. I hate getting hand outs
