If the neighborhood the complex is in is very nice then why are there so many ghetto people in the complex? I feel like im in the projects

I don't get it. The surrounding neighborhood is very nice. Nice sized well kept homes and people have nice cars but then there's where i live. Ghetto/trashy people central and its like wtf. What people are here do not match up to what lives in the surrounding area. This place has gotta accept section 8 or something because some of these cars never leave aka they dont have jobs. The family i hate upstairs they never leave and i dont think they have jobs so i swear they are on section 8.

My moms theories make a ton of sense now that i think of it. No wonder why I don't feel safe walking around here half the time.

I'm really sorry to hear this. I wish you could move. I have lived around people like this and it's no fun. They are very disrespectful and they also steal. I know that firsthand.

Back when Obama took office they started rebuilding the projects in upscale neighborhoods the thought behind that process was they'll see people getting up and going to work everyday so they'll want to get up and go to work everyday instead oh these people leave for work every morning at 7:30 they don't come back home till 5:30 we could rob their house all day long and nobody's going to catch us.

@dale74 this complex has been here for a long time. Apparently it used to be nice long ago. I'm sorry but the hood should stay in the hood

@TempuraShrimp but did they ever start accepting government aid for some of the tenants doesn't matter how long it's been there the owners may have switched a certain percentage of the complex over to government housing especially when the covid pandemic hit and people weren't required to pay rent because then at least the ones that were government subsidized got that government check every month

@dale74 i dont know when they started accepting the vouchers but it's probably been long before my family came here.

It’s definitely section 8.
It’s not poverty people dislike . It’s the social dysfunctions that come with it that people hate .
You don’t feel safe because of poverty?? I guess I don’t understand the danger.

@nonsensiclesnail i don't feel comfortable because of how these types of people act. They like to stare and hog all the space. They're loud and disruptive and disrespectful

If you want to make sure that you stay away from the ghetto effect pick an apartment that's not on a public transit route like a bus route pick one that's at least a mile away
TempuraShrimp · 26-30, M
@dale74 You know what i think that's it. Theres a bus route that goes down the main road. The complex is on the main road. The nice neighborhood behind is off the main road

Nice, upper class neighborhoods and the cities like to keep poverty contained to small, indiscreet areas. Out of sight, out of mind. Cities like to call it ‘Urban Renewal’.
You should move to Russia. You’d love it, it’s all white people.
TempuraShrimp · 26-30, M
@LeopoldBloom im not white and i don't expect to live with all white people, i just want to live in a place where i feel comfortable walking around. I want to live somewhere peaceful with respectful and nice people

How do they have cars if they don't have jobs?
It's so they can be in better school districts.

@MidwestMonster I'd rather live with the easter island heads. At least they'd be good neighbors

The " hood" is a mindset really. It doesn't matter where the people are. Sometimes people get assistance to stay in better neighborhood.
