I definitely do, but it varies sharply in activity levels. Sometimes it goes away.

I can't believe there are people without any internal monologue.
Either they don't know how to identify it or they're in denial of it.
I have full conversations internally.

monologue? more like a dialogue, talking to myself as if there was more than 1 person, arguing, etc
TwiddlerofThumbs · F
I do, usually filled with multiple characters and side conversations.

Self talk can be dangerous... It's often of a defeatist nature...

Yes and also about 10 years ago not long after my mom died I started talking outloud to myself it was difficult to keep from doing it. I thought I was going who knows what, but it lasted about 2 weeks then stopped. But yes my thoughts are all I have for better or worse..

Yes.
I think that’s why I’m a lil’ bit crazy. I listen to myself all the time!!!! 🤣 stop!
The idea that people don’t… yeah… if they don’t…probably means they’re a little bit faster thinker than I am or that they don’t care much about anything.

Yeah but I don't always use words to talk to myself. Sometimes I just use codes & images. No deciphering needed. Lol

If you meditate you can ignore it and pay attention to more important things like what is going on around you.

Sure...only now it’s positive, not negative...aka affirmations!
That sounds like not having a conscience.
One? I have about 5, it's like Inside Out in there
I do. I have entire soap operas in my head.

I do it all the time 😅

I don't have one most of the time. I think things sure but not in words. My husband doesn't believe that you can have complex thought without thinking words but half of the time I don't think in words.
REMsleep · 41-45, F
@Imsleepy Yes thats makes sense especially because I am often far too verbose, but when thinking internally words are just too slow. I dont need words.
My mind will go something like. Lots to do, busy, sleepy, pretty hair, whats in freezer, cook chicken, whats that smell?, is he home yet, call mom all in like 5 seconds. I can't even make words that fast. Its just thoughts with no articulation. Its hard to explain but I can think all of those things with no words in mind.
In fact in order to specifically remember things I sometimes speak aloud or mentally slowly think words because I think really fast and will forget things sometimes and not be mentally present.
