i had a "performance" shop hone my big block and turn my crank and they f'd up the crank sooooo bad... (that wasn't meant to sound that kinky)...

@testbutton I was wanting to hop up a 235 Chevy just a bit so I carried the head to a local machine shop to have it rebuild and about 40 thousandths milled off. A few weeks after I got it up and running the valves started rattling so I pulled it back off. They apparently didn't bother checking the guides which were worn completely out. I ended up finding a different head and taking it to a different shop. Got to asking around and everyone had horror stories about that one.

@Lilnonames 283 is to small and the 327 is just a understroked 350. The 400 is an over heater.
