Does Boris Johnson continuing survival piss annoy you?

My father thinks it's funny there's so much fuss about him having a drink.

He sold the UK down the river by selling himself a dream over Brexit.

@Justenjoyit I strongly believe the UK will be back on the mothership in ten years. And you guys are most welcome because, without you, Germany is too powerful. 🌷
MarieUK · 36-40, F
@Justenjoyit He never believed that Dream he just jumped on the band wagon the most gullibal would believe
MartinII · 70-79, M
@Justenjoyit On the contrary, Brexit has been a great success. (Yes, you read it here!)
Justenjoyit · 56-60, M
@helenS I think the UK is going to become a smaller economy and maybe even be broken up into separate countries going down the road
its just a shame because as you say Germany will dominate the EU and the UK will just be in a daily battle against the EU who will make them jump when they want them too.
helenS · 36-40, F
@Justenjoyit I really hope that a younger generation will see that their place is in Europe, in our common house.
'Rule, Britannia!, Britannia rule the waves' is a thing of the past.
Justenjoyit · 56-60, M
@helenS They should have voted to stay in and get the Germans to organise the country's health system, pensions and goods exports.
MarieUK · 36-40, F
@Justenjoyit They could of got anyone other than a politician or their mates at Capita, G4S etc
my Old Granny or most others could of organised everything a whole lot better
helenS · 36-40, F
@MarieUK Absolutely. My Grandma has never been in dept, neither is my mother, nor am I. When I see those billions and trillions of national debt in each country I feel sick and scared. Debts will have to be paid at some point, right? 😐
MarieUK · 36-40, F
@helenS I hear what your saying but to be honest how the heck a country can owe £3trillion (figure out of thin air) is beyond me also who is the numbskulls who lend that figure out and do they expect it to be paid back ? its not like the Bailiffs can come around and take the TV and washing machine
helenS · 36-40, F
@MarieUK I don't know. I really don't know. All I can say is: limit yourself to whatever funds are available. Don't spend money you don't have.
It's true for you and me, it should be true for everyone, and why the heck is it not true for a nation?
MarieUK · 36-40, F
@helenS its mental but like you say always taught to live with in our means, my Grans saying "pay the rent, a sack of tatties and a Tray of Eggs was all we needed in my day"
Slade · 56-60, M
@helenS ask that to our geniuses in Congress
helenS · 36-40, F
@Slade "In April 2022, the public debt of the United States was around 30.37 trillion U.S. dollars, around 2.2 trillion more than a year earlier, when it was around 28.2 trillion U.S. dollars." (source: statistica.com).
1 trillion = 1,000,000,000,000
28.2 trillion = 28,200,000,000,000
These numbers are beyond any reasonable imagination.
US population: 332,403,650
==> debt per person in 2021 (including babies, of course!): 85,000 US$.
Father, mother and three kids: > 400,000 US$ debts
😐

@Slade they are hoping to make sure we ALL take that trip to the Mediterranean 😵
Slade · 56-60, M
@helenS it cant be paid. Someday it'll default. Be prepared: buy guns, butter and Astroglide (in case you can't escape the mighty Med trip😱
helenS · 36-40, F
@Slade I have to admit that the Mediterranean way is quite demanding. 😏
Slade · 56-60, M
@helenS yes. Takes more communication and understanding cues and body language. But being in tune and doing it right reaps delighlightful rewards.

Makes the trip enjoyable and then you want to be a frequeny flier😉
helenS · 36-40, F
@Slade This is probably not the appropriate thread here, to discuss that any further, right? 😏
