Sewing class not happy with sewing teacher
We've been working on our jackets now for maybe 19 weeks...
The are at least 14 students in the class including me.
Some are still drawing out their block for their jackets.
I've made my block, my toile, sewn the jacket up and currently putting the buttons on, ready to take to the dry cleaners.
I have watched these women struggling, and the tutor doesn't actually help.
She often comes to the room to check but she doesn't actually have any sort of incentive to help.
Her explanations are confusing and if someone complains enough she will do the work for them, but they are not actually learning anything.
Some of the women have desperately been trying to ask me for help but if she's in the room (we're split between two rooms) she gives me evil eyes, or she comes over from who ever she is helping to overrule what I'm saying.
So I have advised the women how I did things... Via YouTube...
When I started I was really confident about learning, but the tutor embarrassed me twice by shouting at me in front of the class. So I stood my ground and told her not to talk to me in this way...
And asked her to explain better as I wouldn't learn by her shouting.
She has also told me of "bullies" and "jealous" students, telling me if anyone is mean to let her know... But who are these people?
The other women have experienced similar and as a consequence they don't like to badger (ask) for help, they sit, chat complain and wait...
I'm getting what I need, a free working space, community. I just wish the other women were more proactive.
I don't give feedback anymore about the tutor and her tutoring because what I do see is she needs the students to be there to earn but she's delaying their learning, to keep her salary.
I am on to her and I don't like it!
