Canada protects pedophile identities. Why can't we have a public registry like the states have?

Because we aren't into ruining people's lives by stigmatizing them forever and basically declaring them fair game for vigilantes. Canada puts all kinds of restrictions on convicted pedophiles but doesn't expose them to mob retaliation. And just imagine if you or someone you knew got onto one of those registries by mistake. Which does happen. 🇨🇦
