Canada protects pedophile identities. Why can't we have a public registry like the states have?

I am not from Canada and I am not saying they shouldn't do it but I guess we shouldn't always put the blame on the system and the goverment. We should realize that the government tries to do what they can to address all these issues but some things are just more pressing than the others. Resources are scarce so they should prioritize.. just my thought
