but the problem is that today's young people think that they can show up when they want to, work a couple hours, take breaks whenever they want, must have their cell phone with them at all times, watching movies and or playing games of their phones while working, must have whatever music on as loud as possible, and get paid top dollar while doing whatever they want. I walked by our 5000 ton stamping press today and the guy running it was watching a movie. And I'm a safety officer with the company. I just shut down the machine since there was no material being fed to it and it was operating like there was. He didn't notice anything was wrong until I shut it down.

I empathize with her...
kids these days jump straight out of school into a job flipping burgers, think their job is hard, and think they're "entitled" to $15/hour
When my grandfather was 18, he was on the beaches of Normandy
When my father was 18, he was in the jungles of Vietnam
When I was 18, I was in the deserts of Afghanistan & Iraq
We all made less than $16,000 a year (adjusted for inflation)
and they want $30,000 a year to hold a spatula in an air conditioned building? 🙄

When we see the youngters behind tills we have only ever had good experiences.
Most are very polite and courteous abd often strike up conversations.
With the order generation..they just seem unhappy. Like its my personal issue these people are still working at 60. No love you shoulda rethought the bags of £200 make up you have on your face.

We forget that we were young too.

@SW-User Well some of the young ones goof off but a lot of them are hard workers. She's the type who thinks she's in charge and a manager but she's not. Like I'm 47 I'm not the norm in this industry but we all deserve respect regardless of age. She thinks because im the 2nd oldest that I'd agree with her views.

@SW-User maybe, maybe not.

Every generation goes through this. Thing is, she’s right. The younger generation are the worst they have ever been. I don’t blame them per se, but the brainwashing that’s been done to them. They are shallow and self absorbed with selfies. I could go on, but won’t.

I hate when people complain about a younger generation. Just go with it. Times change. People change.
