I fell through a wooden deck this afternoon. I resemble a blueberry muffin.

A friend of mine had a bbq and we were in the pool. The new pool doesn't match the deck size anymore and there was a gap between the new pool and the deck. The top step wasn't supported anymore supposedly. You could hear it creaking as it was stepped...

I once walked right off a ten foot high new deck to which the railing was not yet installed. Fell doubled over the hand railing they had, for reasons clear only to them, installed first on the ground..

I briefly thought I was killed, but I wasn't.

Frightening experiences.

Just thinking about my ladder mishap a few years ago and reading about other people's experiences can be unsettling.

Having my feet on solid ground or support can no longer be taken for granted.
