When you’re depressed, you get this foggy film over your eyes. It makes it difficult to see the sincerity from people. Your hearing is also all jumbled and muffled which makes the words they say a bit muted. So basically, you don’t trust what you see and hear.
But, just take a deep breath and trust it anyway. The more you do the more the sights and sounds will clear.
Also, friends have this way of not shutting up about telling you that you matter. They will keep doing it until they pull you back to the light. They’re a pain in the ass that way.
