Why do people think it's ok to make half assed plans, then completely ignore you on the day in question?

I feel like an idiot sending texts like "am I still coming to yours?"

Gawd, I hate that, too. Makes me less inclined to commit when they extend invitations because I don't know if they'll follow through.
