Red Nose Day 2022
Every other year, the UK has a wonderful charitable event called 'Red Nose Day'. It sprang out as a - mostly - comedy event, televised and live with pre-recorded sketches/links, which would run prime-time for around 4-5 hours..
Various celebs would turn up and do a sketch or a part for the show. This year, we had Tom Holland, Jude Law, Eddie Redmayne, David Walliams, Matt Lucas, Gordon Kaye, Kylie Minogue, French & Saunders, Rose Ayling Ellis and Giovanni Pernice (Of 'Strictly....' fame), Jack Whitehall and footballer's Mason Mount and Declan Rice, Stephen Fry, Sandi Toksvig, Alan Davies, Jo Brand, Sally Phillips, Guz Khan, Tom Daly and many, many more.
Money raised always goes to charitable organisations near and far, both national and international, including smaller charities as well as more established charities.
It's something that I've always been passionate about. The great British public stage events on the day and days leading up to the event to raise money, in the past this has covered Bed Pushes, baths in baked beans, 24 hr silences and all points in between.
Myself and my girls have always contributed; this year we gave £8,000 to the event which, at time of writing, has raised over £42 Million.
Here's a little snapshot of the night of TV..
