Are you Brave/Stupid enough to share a secret here?

I called out an organisation for removing woodland under the guise of improving things; their instant response was, 'get in touch we'll show you how wrong you are'. Yeah I'm not going in the woods with a bunch of chainsaw wielding maniacs but I do believe I am a marked man now. Am I allowed to carry a penknife to defend myself- just in case? No this is the UK you'll go to prison for that.
