Oh, we are measuring snow. Our ground was covered where I live in Oregon this morning. That’s about an inch. In early January, we got about a foot and then we got 3 more feet and then freezing rain and my carport collapsed on my 2004 40th anniversary torch red Mostang.

@bhatjc It is costing about $4,000 to fix --2 front fender replacements and small dent repairs to the 2 rear fenders. Some small top repair and a few other things. Also even though the hood went untouched. Repainting it to match the 2 new front fenders.
Snow used to mean being up by 4am sharp to chip the ice from the horse’s water trough. It was so freakin’ cold. And if it was really cold, I got to do it again after breakfast. Brrrr……. 🥶
Looks as though it is ~1-5/8" on the left...but not on the right.
This is clearly a 6" ruler, so the clear part above on the left is (6" - 1-5/8") = 4-3/8" or 4.375" * (2.54 cm/") = 11.112 cm.
On the right, there is about 10.7 cm, so a difference of ~0.4 cm. The arithmetic average amount of free area is 10.9 cm, or 10.9 cm * (1"/2.54 cm) = 4.291".
So the average snow height is about (6" - 4.291") = 1.709" or a little over 1-11/16".
@SW-User I think that it’s funny when some guys are ‘overly confident’ in their optimistic measuring techniques. I’m from a technical background so I’ve always pretty well grounded in said measuring techniques.. sigh this has kept me fairly humble 😉
