What should I do about my back, with no insurance? I don't want surgery

My back is crippling me. I can barely shower, walk, I had to use my hands to lift my leg into my car. Should I see a regular doctor first or just go to the hospital to get diagnosed? I'm thinking whatever is wrong is something I'm going to be considered disabled.

A regular family doctor will likely refer you to a specialist.

If you can't function, you are going to have to get evaluated and treated. Did this happen because of an accident?

Depending on income maybe medicaid might be an option.
