What can I do to get on disability someday? Do I necessarily need a long history of doctor's visits?

Here's the deal. Most days my back cripples me. Can't stand for long or my thighs go numb. I have never seen a doctor for it because I figure they will either offer me temporary pain pills, or sugery. I don't want to do sugery because in most cases, it stays the same, or makes the person even more crippled

You have to get documentation from specialists and they may send you to other doctors. I have heard that disability is easier to get after the age of 50. It’s not an easy process. I knew someone who had worked at Walmart that got injured and it took over 2 years to get disability. She was living with her adult son who was working but it wasn’t enough money to pay rent and bills and buy necessities and they ended up homeless before disability kicked in.
