If you lived 1000's of years ago..

Before science and nobody gave you an explanation for anything. What would you guess the sun was?

Something powerful that I should fear, I don't think I would know what to make of it beyond that.

Or maybe I would just accept it's existence as a hot bright thing in the sky and not give it much thought.
