I have two questions

1. I know how strongly some feel about the downvote. Would people be less upset if the emoji was just a thumbs down? 👎
2. If the Black Lives Matter movement was Black Lives Matter TOO...would it be more understood?

No. The downvote just causes drama. I feel that they should get rid of it.

@SW-User I know lots of folks want it gone. I get that. But, don't we have the responsibility to NOT give them so much power over us? I get plenty of them...how can an emoji by faceless strangers online cause so much angst? It would be fine with me if they removed it,but, while it's here I will use it for good

@fernie2 I think when people are vulnerable, the downvoters take advantage of it. I laugh when they downvote me, but I've seen it affect people so much that they suffer from it.
I have downvoted posts where people sexualize children because that's gross.

@SW-User you're right, some folks already feel insecure on a serious level and a DV feeds into that.
