Do you have any advice for my friend who is in a rut?

Hes's about 46 years old. He got in a wreck a few months ago. Solo wreck, no one else involved. Wasn't intoxicated. He does have a history of seizures. They changed his drivers license to a non-driver. Not sure if this accounts for anything, but he did have some left over beneficiary money from his elderly mom that died. For some reason his lawyer put him in a nursing home, but not for short term till he got recovered from the wreck. He's keeping him there for some reason. The lawyer appointed another person to take the keys and everything to his house. This house is paid off, his parents legally left it to him and now he has no access to it. He has to pay 2,000 a month to stay cooped up at this small "home" nursing home.. I wasn't sure what advice to give other than call around to get some legal advice. What should he do? Where should he start to get his house back? Seems so unfair!! They tell him to get a place in town and sell his house in the country. Tells him he can't drive anymore

Is your friend developmentally disabled. If his lawyer was making these decisions for him, sounds like he signed a power of attorney letting others make decisions for him cause he is in a state where he could be vulnerable enough to be exploited .. hmm
