@TexChik According to Dr. William Davis, a cardiologist who wrote the Wheat Belly books, whole wheat has a higher glycemic index than white bread, and it’s inflammatory including to the skin.

Best thing for your skin is to avoid alcohol and smoking and moisturize. I am almost 50 and have pretty good skin still.

the French eat a lot of good white bread, i don't think they are known particularly for bad skin.

White bread is just rubbish , all the goodness has gone out of it .Brown bread or whole wheat bread is better for you .

@Rhode57 they say whole wheat has a higher glycemic index than white wheat bread. Wheat itself is very inflammatory and I’ve stopped eating it for over 4 years now.

2 slices a day is not harmful unless you have a sensitivity. 6 slices a day (3 sandwiches) would be.

Probably...why not switch to whole wheat or rye! Learn to like it.
White carbs are not good in any way. Find a multigrain bread. Fiber one multigrain is the best. Low low carbs, 100 calories for 2 slices. Tons of fiber. It's not a dark bread

From what I've heard, read the ingredients. If it says enriched unbleached flour, stay away.

@lumberjackslam there is a chemical they add to wheat flours (potassium bromate) that is very unhealthy. You can find some flour without it but it’s going to be expensive so most bread is made from the cheap stuff.
