How could one find out how many users this site really has?

When I go to look at all profiles, there actually doesn't seem to be very many considering there are people from all over the world on this site. Seems like there's maybe a couple hundred or so

I was thinking the same thing, after viewing the member's list I came across maybe 100 users. I know it can't be just 100 users on this site that would be insane.
