I'm sick of people saying things for the sake of being nice. I'll believe you once this sentiment is more than a word.

like when they fuck you
SW-User
@coolboy86: Sure... that can definitely be a sign. 馃槄

What if they're just being honest? Careful, you might hurt their feelings
SW-User
@Alex1610: No way of telling until they prove it. I've received a thousand insults, it's going to take more than one compliment to convince me.
SW-User
@Conscience: Not even a thank?
SW-User
@Alex1610: Why would I thank what could very possibly be a lie?
SW-User
@Conscience: Why wouldn't you thank what could possibly be not a lie?
SW-User
@Alex1610: Because the odds are against me. I assure you, if I had received a thousand compliments instead, I would be much more willing to thank them.
SW-User
@Conscience: How are you supposed to get a thousand of compliments when you don't even accept one compliment? Also, you don't need a crowd to prove that you're beautiful. We don't usually receive compliments a lot, so enjoy it when you have one. Listen, we never know whether people are trying to insult us or praise us, but we should never let that stops us from being good.
SW-User
@Alex1610: I did say "instead" so that means the insults would have never happened making compliments a lot easier to accept. I think I do need a crowd because I'm not delusional. I'll enjoy genuine compliments. Lies don't mean anything to me and since that's the most likely reality, it's the one I'll go with until proven otherwise. We never know for sure about individuals, but whatever most people say about you is what you are. So it's what I'll assume I am to someone until they show me they're different.
SW-User
@Conscience: You know, your confidence is based on people. You let them decide whether you're beautiful or not. I think this is mainly just about how you're insecure about your look and your insecurity might hurt people's feelings. By the way, we can never know when someone's being honest, even if they have explanations for the compliments. There will never be enough explanations when you keep being doubtful like that. I'm sorry if you got hurt but don't dwell into it, you let it beat you down and make you lose faith in people. Please don't blame on the insults, you've chosen to give up when you could've picked a better way. Look, all I ask is a thank, an appreciation. Is it really that hard to say such kind word? It's not gonna hurt you, nor hurt the person who gives the compliment. Also, take a break from thinking about yourself for a sec, and start thinking about the others-do they get hurt when you just try to defend yourself?
SW-User
@Alex1610: My confidence is based on people, you're right, but that's only because I don't have a person for me. I think you're overestimating my insecurities though. They wouldn't overpower someone who was important enough to me. If someone did more than give me kind words, I would definitely believe them. I'm ugly to people, but I know I can be beautiful to someone. Now that doesn't mean I'm going to believe anyone who wants to be polite. I guess I could give you a insincere thanks if that's what you want from me, because I can't give anyone a real thanks until they do more for me than just act nice. I'm sorry if that hurts someone's feelings, but they really shouldn't expect strangers to believe anything they say.
SW-User
@Conscience: Oh so you do thank people for their compliments.....Woah such a waste of time of writing lol. I thought you were kinda of like being...a jerk to people (no offense), sorry. One question though, what can they do to make you believe them? Demonstrate you are beautiful? (now that's two questions lol)
SW-User
@Alex1610: No problem. 馃槢 Let's see... if someone says I'm beautiful, I would need reasons. Why am I beautiful? What about me is beautiful? Not only that, but they would more importantly need to DO something. A girl can say I'm beautiful all day, if she doesn't have any interest in me, why would I believe her? Now if she's already with someone else or not looking for that with anyone, then I'm a lot more willing to believe her under those circumstances. Or maybe she could specify why I'm beautiful but also why she doesn't feel romantically about me and that would also help. I have a very logical mind and explanations go a long way with me. Also if this person did compliment me, and then went out of their way to provide more proof, like messaged me, simply being there to help, standing up for me, etc. Pretty much anything someone can do for you that they don't have to do but they do it anyways would help convince me even more. Stuff like that.
SW-User
@Conscience: Lol Romance? Seriously? Don't take these compliments that way. Why does helping you convince you that they really think you're beautiful? How does that work? You know, sometimes you just gotta take a break from (over)thinking for awhile when it comes to this kind of stuff. I know you're deep thinker, an logical person but try to look at a more possitive perspective and just accept things as they are. You'll enjoy life a lot more, trust me.
SW-User
@Alex1610: Follow your own advice, but don't expect it to work for other people.
SW-User
@Conscience: Just trying to show you a different point of view. I don't expect you to listen to me, coz I know you won't. Also, people like you are quite cynical, smart, but cynical. Anyway, it's been an interesting time talking with you. Enjoy yourself.
SW-User
@Alex1610: I don't see a reason to listen to your perspective when you don't even know mine seeing how you just laughed at it. You enjoy yourself too.
SW-User
@Conscience: You don't see a reason because you don't agree with it. I don't laugh at anyone's perspective as I respect it. And what makes you think I don't know yours? You showed it to me. Now, let's just stop this whole conversation before it can get any worse (lol). Good day
SW-User
@Alex1610:
Lol Romance? Seriously? Don't take these compliments that way.
That's a lot of respect.
SW-User
@Conscience: Did it mean "disrespectful"?
SW-User
@Alex1610: It could easily have meant that. You even asked if I was being serious like it could have been a joke. I'm not crazy for taking that as disrespect. I bet most people would. You also were laughing at something you don't understand. Why don't you understand it? Because:
Why does helping you convince you that they really think you're beautiful? How does that work?
SW-User
@Conscience: I don't laugh, I thought it was funny. Now, funny doesn't mean "humorous" (maybe I used the "lol" wrong). Sorry if that caused misuderstanding. You didn't even answer the questions, you know that?
SW-User
@Alex1610: I didn't answer those questions because I opened up to you and you laughed at me. I know, I'm being a child. I guess I'm too sensitive.
SW-User
@Conscience: No, it's ok being a child, in fact what you did was not wrong. You felt offended, and that's normal. Sorry for accidentally laughing at you, I didn't mean to. Will you answer the questions now?
