Need bed bugs/mites solution! And why do they bite only ME and not my husband? Just curious

We've been having bed bugs/mites problem for a week now. Strange thing is, the bed bugs bite me at night and not my husband!! Why so?
Also, we tried killing them with a bed bug spray but they're still there. What's the best way to kill them?

I don't know anything about getting rid of them, but can relate an experience that might shed light on why they bite some folks and not others.

In my garden one of the melon plants in a hill was damaged. I splinted it, and it continued to grow, looking just as good as the other plants with which it was intertwined. A few weeks later that hill became infested with bugs. On looking closer, I found that the bugs were only on the plant that had been damaged and "repaired." Seems it was not as healthy as it looked.

(I have been bothered, also, by bugs that ignored Hubby, who was sleeping next to me.)
