You know, that is a great question. I recently moved back home from a state where I lived for 23 years. The state I moved to used apple juice as apple cider.
Now I really, really love apple cider, and being gone for 23 years, I craved me some apple cider. That being said, I moved home in April and had to wait until Fall for the nectar of the Gods called apple cider.
Fall came around and the craving was in full force, so I talked my roommate into running me to the store to purchase my first jug of ambrosia. ( my mouth is watering I type).
When we get to the store, I don't want to spend an hour just to purchase apple cider. So I run in, (more like walk briskly), and find the apple cider, I grab the first half gallon I come to and high tail it to the register and make my purchase. I get back to the vehicle and we head home. We get into the house and the first thing I do is go to the cupboard, grab a glass and pour me a glass of deliciousness.
Now please remember, It's been 23 years since I've been able to enjoy my first taste of cider. I tip the glass back and take a huge gulp and man, this doesn't taste like I remembered...did I purchase a bad jug of cider? did my taste change? I look at the bottle and what do my wondering eyes see? friggin Pumpkin Spice. now I'm not a pumpkin spice fan to begin with, but, who in the name of God would put pumpkin spice in apple cider?? go ahead, go ahead, I'll wait...
