@SW-User Unless....the prison plans to hang him AND shoot him regardless of what he says! It will still be the truth (but not the whole truth) that, "If you tell a lie will we will hang you and if you tell the truth we will shoot you," regardless of whether he tells a lie or the truth.

The statements say "if." They do not say "if and only if."
I honestly have no clue BUT this came to mind 🤷‍♂️

@Tracos But a contradictory self-referential sentence like that is neither a truth nor a lie. Thus neither of the "if" statements apply, and they are free to execute the guy any way they wish.
