That's what I was thinking. I don't think intelligence has much to do with survivability. More like advancements in medicine, technology, and a generally easier world to live in.

@Conscience: some of that, but my mom's great aunt and uncle lived into their nineties. And both died in the 1960s. I'm not saying they were stupid, because they didn't seem so. They got pretty rich running their own cabinet making company. Starting out with a few hand tools in the back room of their home in old Montreal back around 1900. I'm just saying the medical advancements weren't as advanced while they were aging.

@Serenitree: Money can do wonderful things for one's lifespan. Over time life expectancy has increasted for people. I don't really think that's because anyone's getting smarter. We just have so much more blessings today than we did back then. More opportunity. :)
