The grass is always greener, you are both correct and incorrect. You incorrectly assume that it wasn't harder but you didn't live back then. Also you incorrectly assume that retirement is just great for people but in fact, most boomers are still working. It's a myth that they can just live off one paycheck, that's why even retirees if they don't have family to take care of them, pick up part time jobs to supplement.

Most of the boomers I know of worked in really physical trade jobs (which often pay more as they rely on technical special skills) and then saved for retirement on their own but they also have help from family members, like you.

You are correct in a way though, they did a study and found that boomers actually had growing IQs which was linked not to average higher intelligence but better food availability (no junk food,) lower cost of living, shrinking of families due to the industrial revolution which in turn allowed parents to focus on the kids they had rather than having larger families for survivability only, general better welfare of life and also due to being pushed to think in an abstract way.

As a result technical and scientific skills also developed in which most boomers entered trade jobs.

Now though, all that is shrinking so in effect it's harder "in that way."

But to say that boomers have it "all around easy" and able to afford everything in one paycheck is [c=BF0000]incorrect[/c]. I would say if anything, the only reason why someone would be able to afford one paycheck is if they worked in the trades their whole lives in physically demanding jobs which no one seems to want to do anymore.
