@Mira-ross: if I were told why certain changes were necessary, I might still be uncomfortable for a while after the change, but I'd deal with it. I just detest arbitrary decisions being made for me without any consideration.
At one time, we could request a transfer to a different unit within the building I live in. One month one of my neighbours requested a move, got approval and was put on the waiting list. When her name came up, she moved....no problem. One month after she applied, I did too, because the unit I live in still has the same carpeting that was installed forty four years ago. As people move out, the apartments are being completely renovated. I want a unit with no carpets. So I applied for a transfer. I was told NO! When I asked why I was told it's against our policy. I mentioned others who had been approved. NEW RULES. If you want to move, move to a different building. Then you can add your name to a waiting list to move back in. That, of course, would require paying to hire movers and a truck, twice, instead of just hiring movers, with no truck, once.
Arbitrary changes feel like a slap in the face.
