Get an apprenticeship, earn while you learn, and in five years you'll be making low six figures shutting off the utilities of college graduates the think they are smart but work minimum wage and blame capitalism for their own bad decisions.
lisasweety · 22-25, F
@IronHamster
low six figures
wait is that possible with a trade job??
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@lisasweety I break 100k EVERY year.
lisasweety · 22-25, F
@IronHamster i thought u need a stem job or some niche professional job (ex. airline pilot) in order 2 have such a salary...
Capitallism has it's problems. @IronHamster
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@Spoiledbrat Capitalism means being able to choose. Free markets are inherently ethical. Socialism is just another term for slavery. Imagine a sociology professor explaining he conceived of a new form of slavery that would bring fairness to the world.
That means some people will screw others over. i know what it means. @IronHamster
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@Spoiledbrat Who decides? In a free market I can buy what I want and work for who I want. I can even name my own price for my labor. Under socialism, the government makes those decisions then lies to you about just whose money it is that you think you have.
Not really because its a free market. @IronHamster
People dont have to hire you or sell merchandise at an affordable cost.

@Spoiledbrat And neither do you. Under socialism you cannot fire your insurance agent or hire a better bread maker.
Well a combination of the two can work. People dont ask to be born and then many of them dont possess the skills necessary to make it and that's not necessarily their fault. @IronHamster

@Spoiledbrat There will never be equality of outcomes. Some are rich in love, others poor in love; rich in valor, poor in valor; rich in intellectual capacities, poor in intellectual capacities...
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@lisasweety that salary is absolutely possible
lisasweety · 22-25, F
@Jenny1234 what kind of trade job then?? bc i cant imagine a trade job being able 2 earn that much unless u have ur own business
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@IronHamster Yup, master plumbers make 100,000 yearly. Elevator techs make a lot too about 90,000
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@lisasweety You should start doing some research my son is taking a plumbing trade program in September and he did a lot of research on the Internet and spoke to our local college where he’s going to attend to get more information about the jobs
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@lisasweety Even if you don't make that 100,000 that Master Plumber's make or the 90,000 yearly that elevator tech makes, the starting wages are pretty decent than any other job starting out. They make in between $25 to $35 hourly and they most likely do pay increases.

The thing about trade jobs is that they are very heavily focused on specific skill sets so if you have a good skill set, you can bet that you'll be needed big time and can negotiate for higher starting pay.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@SatanBurger @lisasweety and most of them were essential workers and worked all through covid so if we were ever to have another pandemic, you’d be employed
@lisasweety Today is my first day in the HVAC industry (heating and air conditioning) and I know I have a good future ahead of me. Trades are making a comeback.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@SinlessOnslaught Ooo speaking of which, how did it go?
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@SinlessOnslaught that’s awesome!
@SatanBurger Hasn't gone yet. We open in a half hour. 🙂
@Jenny1234 Thanks!
