Children are weird life forms who pick up how to behave from all the stimuli around them. Thus: if your child is (however you describe them) chances are you had a hand in it !
Teens unfortunately go into overdrive when it comes to emotions or libido.
This is why adults are often jelous because we haven't the energy to do EITHER !

Your ex. Somebody else's significant other. Your boss. A sibling !; etc. realise that NOTHING GOOD WILL COME OF IT !!!!!!!!!
If there is an event in your past that stifles your present. Try and deal with it.
Write it down, event; cause; effect; outcome. Then see if you think counselling might help you find perspective, distance and closure.
