The time honored tradition calls for elected officials to be subjected to ridicule by the public and media. Decorum forbids personal attacks and for family members, particularly children, to be protected against any vulgar or distasteful remarks whether spoken or published. We have seen that breached numerous times.

What Ms. Griffin went beyond the realms of tact and humor. Regardless of anyone's standards her act was a catastrophe and should be held as an example of carelessness run amok.

I didn't see it but you are probably right, there's a line between valid making fun and just bad taste to the level Trump descends to.. No one should want to descend to his level!
