is this creepy or am i overreacting

before i tell the story i would like to add that we live next to a massive cemetery and memorial for the fallen vets (but there are bodies there) and they are on the side of the house where my son sleeps.

often times around 3am it's always at 3am my son will wake up in the dead of the night and start laughing hysterically like something is funny. he will laugh so hard it will wake me up on the other side of the house. i will go check on him and he is always just laying down and the room is empty....

i would like to add something in the comments that happened before but was totally unrelated to this (i want to add only in the comments because i dont want it to influence the answer to my question)

I like to keep an open mind on this kind of thing. Some of it could be a coincidence but then a lot of people experience it and they can't all have overactive imaginations.

@CastorTroy a police officer told me that there are houses in certain areas by the cemetery that call 911 all the time claiming someone is breaking in. when police arrive no one is breaking in and everything is fine

@DeluxedEdition Yes, I think as humans we are pretty limited in what we understand about the unknown and paranormal. I have never seen a ghost or spirit but I have seen orbs and they look like balls of light moving in specific directions and not floating like dust as some people assume they are.
