First of all Harley is completely different than the Joker in characteristic sense. She is defined as a person who shows empathy, feelings of emotions, gratitude. We get a more of a sense of her aesthetics than the Joker, her personality is more in depth. We see her character expand through the years from this once psychotic clutzy loveable abused henchwoman/gf clown, then to a woman who takes no shit and is willing to break free of the Joker to make a name for herself as her own character. Whereas the Joker is a sadistic clown whose only purpose is to end morality and kill everyone who gets in his way, he has a clownish persona that defines the formal basis of his character which makes him more surprising and mysterious. He has no guilt, no pain, nothing. He sees this world as one bad joke and he loves to put his own spin on things and cause mayhem. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THAN HARLEY!
