No, it should vhe provided information relevant to the investigations and not shut down.

They should have fought it. And not caved. Had this happened on tumbler, Yahoo would not hjave shut the site down. And Google would not have abandoned Google + . but they have far money than Arman has. EVEN WITH his income form Kanjoya.

The smart thing- now- would be to be the company- as is, to Yahoo and have it run as it was. Yes, some meddling needs done- but too much would sent member away. A more proactive approach would be needed.

The sites was full of FBI and CIA plants. (This I know as i helped take down a human trafficking ring!) And other police forces. And I am sure they are here as well. And that may have played into the decision to close it.

But it was 2006 technology and it needed updated a lot. Notice the Korean spammers are not here? Or some of the other negative forces? it needs a redone infrastructure.

It probably would be easier to do here than on ep, at least ep was trying to keep everyone anonymous. Heaven forbid they give out my secrets.

but then it comes down to do you deserve to be anonymous? groups like I am the other woman etc....kinda creep me out when it comes to understand the logical rationality of the human mind.
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
Of course I do, if you are not doing anything wrong why not. It helps us understand each others disorders better.

@Katie87: You silly girl nobody wears tin foil hats anymore, you just put the tin foil on all the windows. Everyone knows they can't steal your thoughts through drywall only glass but when when it is foiled.

If they had co-operated with authorities they wouldnt have shut down

Where life is in danger or has been taken they should co-operate bollocks to anonymity

EP is responsible for its own downfall

@Subsumedpat: Really Hmm i was there for 10 years so theres nothing you can really tell me about EP

I got an email from them today did you ?

do you want to see it ?

Ep closed itself down. It wasn't shut down.
The U.S. govt. threatend to close it as new 'terror'laws coming in meant they wanted details on every users email account.
E:P refused to hand over the data saying that anonymity was the cornerstone of it's existance.
The U.S. govt. said do it or we'll pull the plug.
E.P didn't so the government did !

Thank you for being a part of the EP community all of these years. Please know that we have looked into every option when making our decision to close the site. This was a very difficult decision on our part that we struggled with for months and we are just as saddened as our users.

The bottom line is that the privacy of our users is our top priority, and as online anonymity is being challenged more and more by government agencies, we simply no longer have the resources to effectively handle a slew of incoming information requests, subpoenas, and search warrants.

While we support proper law enforcement efforts, the potential for abuse is constantly growing as scores of new laws require compliance with intricate and sometimes contradictory privacy regulations for each country, territory, and state.
With Appreciation,
